Statement of Mission & Purpose
My journey into the field of college student affairs might not be a fairytale story, but it is one that is of high importance for my life thus far. From my beginning in residence life as an undergraduate to my current position as a graduate residence hall director, each step has shaped who I have become and who I want to be in the future in this thing we call a career of working for the betterment of students.
Reflection: Influence of Thomas Jefferson
One of the most influential books that I have read to this point in my life is Thomas Jefferson by R. B. Bernstein. It succinctly showcases the legacy of the third President of the United States, discussing his background, interests, political views, and more. For most of my life I have looked to Jefferson as an inspirational figure who I relate to in many ways; however, I also disagree with him on a few life choices and decisions.
Student Engagement
The Effects of Engagement on Undergraduate Student Success
I had often heard the word "involvement" and "engagement" thrown around, but I never really understood the background of the idea and the extent of the research on the topic. I have a fun time writing this paper, and it is one of the papers that stand out to me when thinking about my Master's program.
Professionals in the Field
Interview with Dr. Joel Anderson, UALR Chancellor
I was charged with interviewing someone in a position that I hope to aspire to some day. I always shoot for the stars, so I interviewed my chancellor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
